Sustainability Policy of REALFOODSPACE Essen

We see sustainability as a core part of our company philosophy. Our goal is to act in an ecologically responsible, socially fair, and economically sustainable way.

We focus on:

  • Resource conservation through mindful energy use, waste reduction, and material reuse.

  • Local collaborations with partners from Essen and the surrounding area to minimize transport distances and strengthen the regional economy.

  • Social responsibility by ensuring fair working conditions, inclusive event opportunities, and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles.

  • Use of renewable technologies: electric cars can be charged at our in-house wall box; sound, light, and small devices are powered by our solar energy storage system.

  • Continuous improvement of our environmental and climate protection processes through collaborations with associations and initiatives running the “Solar Café Essen” and “Solar Café Europe” projects on-site.

  • Regular evaluation of our activities’ carbon footprint.

  • Use of chlorine-free cleaning products and eco-labeled paper.

  • No disposable items in the kitchen.

  • Partnerships with local gastronomy that adhere to sustainable standards, offering catering services with and without animal products.

  • No smoking area.

  • Event design options including a children’s play area, park walks, and cooperations with local bike rental services, featuring a Carla Cargo e-trailer.

The implementation and further development of these sustainability goals are coordinated by Daniela Petry, our Sustainability Manager, who ensures that sustainability is integrated and regularly reviewed in all areas of REALFOODSPACE Essen.
